The Unlocking the Club Host and Co-Hosts are Black women who care deeply about the communities we live in and the people we interact with. We find our voice from being sisters, cousins, mothers, friends, daughters, and leaders. Our stories are your stories and we are honored to help tell them!

Meet Your Host Angela Taylor

Angela Taylor is an equity & inclusion strategist, executive coach, motivational speaker, podcaster, TV Analyst, entrepreneur, and Host of the Unlocking the Club podcast whose mission is to help leaders and organizations reach their full potential. She asks the question – “What needs to be in place for impact & excellence” – then aligns interests and arranges people, processes, and systems to design for success.

Angela is a caretaker of people, ideas and stories. Everything does as an executive coach and leadership practitioner is aimed at nurturing her clients, their ideas and their stories in an effort to help them live a life of impact and joy.

 Taylor’s entrepreneurial endeavors include The DIGNITAS Agency, LLC. (a consulting company focused on leadership development, change management and diversity, equity & inclusion strategy), Indulge Boise Food Tours (a culinary experience company), Tindall Avenue Coaching (a life and leadership coaching firm), and NetWorks Sports Consulting (a strategic consulting firm).

 Taylor is Partner & Co-Founder of The DIGNITAS Agency, a boutique global consulting firm focused on leadership development, change management, executive coaching and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy. The firm, founded in 2013, consults with clients in corporate, government, health care, academia, tech, and the startup space. Clients include Charles Schwab, VMware, Dolby Laboratories, Co-Active Training Institute, TEAGUE, St. Luke’s Health System, J.R. Simplot Company, City of Boise, Boise State University, General Mills, 3M Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Facebook, Google, Symantec, Happy Family, Clearwater Analytics, Boise Cascade, US Bank, Lovevery, and Medtronic among others. 

Taylor also launched Indulge Boise Food Tours in 2016 under the Tindall Avenue Events + Entertainment umbrella. Indulge Boise Food Tours, the first food tour established in the Treasure Valley, provides food & walking tours to local residents and out-of-town visitors as a way to learn more about the Treasure Valley and its cultural & culinary offerings. Indulge Boise’s unique approach leverages storytelling during the carefully crafted experiences to help individuals connect with self, others, neighborhoods, and community.

 An ICF (International Coach Federation) certified coach trained in the co-active model at the Co-Active Training Institute, Taylor founded Tindall Avenue Coaching (TAC) in 2018. At TAC, she coaches and consults with senior executives in global companies, leadership teams tackling their BHAG, non-profit stakeholders endeavoring to leave a lasting impact on the communities they serve, under-represented voices in leadership who find themselves stuck as they navigate dominant culture systems and challenging corporate structures, emerging leaders who aspire to find their niche in helping to change the world, and individuals who have reached a pivotal time in the personal/professional life.

 A 20-year veteran of the sports industry, Taylor founded NetWorks Sports Consulting, LLC in 2009. The firm focuses its efforts primarily in the sports & entertainment industries and specializes in strategic planning, brand development, program development, and event management.

 Taylor’s tenure in the sports industry most recently included a two-year stint as President & General Manager of the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Atlanta Dream. As President & General Manager, Taylor oversaw every aspect of the organization including Sponsorship, Ticket Sales, Finance & Administration, Public Relations, Digital Media, Corporate Social Responsibility, Marketing, Player Personnel, Basketball Operations and Business Operations. She was hired as Executive Vice President and General Manager in January of 2014 and just four months later was named President and General Manager.

 Prior to running the Atlanta Dream, Taylor served two years as the Vice-President and General Manager of the Washington Mystics for Monumental Sports & Entertainment. She was named Vice-President and General Manager with the Washington Mystics in October 2008. In her role with the Mystics, she was responsible for all player personnel decisions and oversaw all aspects of basketball operations for the organization. During her career with the Mystics, Taylor led the team to the WNBA Playoffs during both seasons, which was the first time the organization had appeared in the playoffs during consecutive seasons.

 Angela was named Vice-President of Business Operations with the Minnesota Lynx in July 2006. In this newly created position, Taylor oversaw all business operations for the Lynx, including ticket sales, marketing, fan relations, public relations, community relations, interactive services, and corporate sponsorships. Taylor spent 9 years (10 seasons) with the WNBA League Office based in New York City, most recently as Senior Director, Player Personnel.

 Prior to joining the WNBA League Office staff, Taylor was an assistant coach for the women’s basketball teams at Stanford University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Arizona. A four-year varsity letter winner at Stanford University, Taylor helped guide the Stanford women’s basketball team to two NCAA national championships (1990 & 1992), three NCAA Final Fours (1990-92), and one Sweet Sixteen appearance (1993).

 In 2006, Taylor co-founded The CHANCE Foundation, an organization whose mission is to Create Hope and Access for our Nation’s Children through Education. The CHANCE Foundation helps provide at-risk youth with the support, guidance, tools and resources needed to navigate the college application process.

 A native of Mountain Home, Idaho, Taylor graduated from Stanford University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and earned her MBA (with an emphasis on Marketing and Management) at New York University’s Stern School of Business in May 2002. She is also an ACC Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and a graduate of the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI).

 She was inducted into the Mountain Home High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. During her induction speech, in honor of her parents, Taylor and her siblings (Greg and Gary) announced they were founding The Alice & Charles Taylor Scholar-Athlete LEAD Scholarship. The scholarship honors senior scholar-athletes at Mountain Home High School who exhibit ­Leadership, Educational Excellence, Athletic Achievement, and Distinguished Community Service.

 Her philanthropic endeavors include being a member and Vice-Chair of the Treasure Valley Salvation Army Board of Directors, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) Community Board Chair, Saint Alphonsus Health System Board Member, Boise CVB Board of Directors, Boise Startup Week Track Chair | Food Track and Diversity & Inclusion Champion, Boise State University’s Blue Sky Institute Advisory Board, and The College of Idaho Advisory Board. Former board work includes the Stanford Buck/Cardinal Board, Atlanta Sports Council Board of Directors, Central Atlanta Progress Board of Directors, Stanford Athletics Board, Ronnie Lott’s All-Stars Helping Kids Board, Boise State University Commission on Diversity & Inclusion, and The Clayman Institute at Stanford University, and the YWCA of Minneapolis Board of Directors.

 Taylor enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing golf.

Beverly Oden

Beverly Oden is a Counselor & Entrepreneur who started her career as a journalist for Sports Illustrated before going on to produce documentaries for Fox’s Beyond the Glory., is a documentary series that profiled some of the most legendary and controversial athletes in recent history.

Before entering the field of journalism, Beverly competed on the 1996 Olympic Volleyball team in the Olympic games held in Atlanta (adding the title of Olympian to her resume along with her two older sisters, Kim & Elena).

Oden’s journey has led her to being a voice for Athletes and mental health, racialized trauma, therapy for trauma. That has included playing a pivotal role in the formation of the Oden Commission in Orange County, CA. The commission aims to hold discussions on racial profiling between residents and law enforcement

Oden graduated from Stanford University where she won a National Championship on the Women’s Volleyball Team in 1992.

Mia Jackson

Mia Jacson is owner and founder of DORO Marketing Services. DORO has been featured in the national media, including USA Today, MSNBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, and Black Enterprise. Through her consulting work with DORO, Mia focuses on building brands that are committed to mindful missions. She’s a seasoned communicator & relationship builder, with a passion for baking, sports and building community. 

 

Jackson graduated from Stanford University.
